Largest Rooftop Solar Power Plant of UAE
This is the 2nd part of the largest rooftop solar
power plant in UAE. Here we will discuss the capacity, components,
specifications, and point of connections for this part of the largest rooftop
solar power plant of UAE. As already mentioned in the first part the total
capacity of this rooftop solar power plant is 3.8MW. The total capacity of this
part of the solar power plant is 1757.6KW or 1.7576MW. Given below are the
specification and details of this part of the power plant only.

Components of Solar PV Plant
Components used in this biggest rooftop solar power plant
are the same for both parts of this power plant. We have discussed some components
in the first article and we will discuss remaining components here in this article.

Here we will discuss only the second part of this rooftop solar
PV plant.
Solar PV Module:
There are a total of 5408 solar PV
modules installed in this part of the solar power plant. Each Solar PV module is
monocrystalline and manufactured by Panasonic. Each solar PV module is rated as
325W in standard test conditions. There are 13 PV modules in series in each
string. For some inverters, there is a total of 24 input of DC strings, and for some
inverters, there are 25 inputs of DC strings.

Solar PV inverter:
There are a total of 17 solar PV inverters in this portion of the largest rooftop solar power plant of UAE. Each inverter is rated as 100KVA.
These solar PV inverters are connected in parallel. All the solar inverters are
installed on the rooftop. Further specifications are discussed in the first part of
this article.
DC String Cables:
DC string cable used in this power plant is 6mm2
copper cable with double protection. This DC cable is suitable for outdoor
installations.
AC Output Cables:
There are two different sized AC cables are used in this
solar power plant. From solar PV inverter to the AC combiner box Ac cable size
is 70mm2 and from AC combiner box to the meter cabinet AC cable size
is 150mm2.
AC Combiner Box:
There are three AC combiner
boxes used for this portion of the largest rooftop solar power plant of UAE
because there are three different points of connection for this solar power
plant. All the AC combiner boxes have interface protection relays.
Breakers and Relays:
All the breakers and relays used in this biggest rooftop
solar power plant are manufactured by ABB and approved by DEWA.
Mounting Structure:
There is no specific mounting structure is used in this
largest rooftop solar power plant of UAE. Only clamps are used which are
connected with the roof and holds the solar PV modules. There are four clamps under
every solar PV module.
Cable Trays:
Different sized cable trays are used in this solar plant.
There are two different sized DC cable trays are used in this plant which are
200mm and 400mm. And AC cable trays are 400mm and 600mm wide.
Weather Monitoring System:
The weather monitoring system is comprised of different
components which include irradiance sensor, pyranometer, air sensor, and temperature
sensor. The irradiance sensor is made by meteo control Energy and Weather Services.
Whereas other components are made by Lufft. All these components of the weather
monitoring systems are connected to the meteo control data logger, which is connected
to the internet.
Online Monitoring System:
Like all other solar power plants, this largest solar power
plant also has an online monitoring system. The online monitoring system used in
this solar power plant is made by meteo control. Using meteo control online
monitoring portal you can access this power plant from all over the world. Using
this online monitoring system we can access that power plant and monitor its
performance. You can monitor even at a string level using this monitoring portal.
