The Solar PV initiative is taken by DEWA along with the other two smart initiatives. Solar PV system for households and businesses is encouraged by DEWA. DEWA is supporting the customers who are applying for net metering. Benefits of net metering are as follow:

Solar PV Training and Certification by DEWA

DEWA is offering Solar PV training on a regular basis free of cost. Only Consultants and Contractors can apply to their employees. An individual engineer cannot apply for this certification program.

The following are the requirements for this certification program for Junior Solar PV Expert.

3	Experience for Junior PV Expert	No Experience is required for Junior Solar PV Expert
4	Experience for Senior Solar PV Expert	Minimum 4 Years of Experience and specifically 2 years in Solar industry in Designing, Building, Verification, or Testing.

Detailed Procedure

1. Contractor or Consultant Company has to send the application to DEWA on behalf of his employees. No individual employee is allowed to apply for this scheme.
2. After successful verification of documents, DEWA will send the Email to your company with training date, venue, and Training Material.
3. There will be a three-day training 8 hours per day continuously, and at the end of each day, there will be a quiz which will not affect your final result.
4. At the end of the training on the 3^rd day, there will be a final test for 2 hours comprised of multiple-choice questions.
5. There will be a total of 14 questions in the test with 4 questions from the core content. Answer to all the 4 questions from core content has to be correct any wrong answer to these questions will be marked as a fail. From the remaining 10 questions, the correct answer to 6 questions will be considered as pass.
6. After giving the test DEWA will send the Email to applying a company with your result.
7. Within 10 days after announcing the result, DEWA will issue the certificates to successful candidates.
